CTF, Inc. ZSB PROJECT UPDATE #18
TO: Friends of the Zoarville Station Bridge
FROM: Dave Tschantz, Project Manager, Camp Tuscazoar
Foundation, Inc. (CTF)
DATE: July 20, 2007
Since Update #17, the following events have occurred:
-
Construction has begun and will be completed by August
15th. We have attempted to keep everyone posted by
displaying pictures of the bridge on the
website as it is being rebuilt.
-
The bridge is being rebuilt next to its abutments and, on
July 27th, sometime after 9am, will be lifted in one piece and set onto
its bearing surfaces on the abutments by a 500 ton capacity crane. Final
assembly will then take place, including installation of the decking and
railings.
-
A dedication ceremony,
open to the public, will be held on September 15th at 11am. You are
invited to attend. You need not RSVP unless you receive a personal
invitation and request to do so. Information on parking will be
posted on the website. Come early, as close parking and seating
will be limited.
This will be the last update I send out. I want to thank all
of you for your support and encouragement to me as the years rolled by on
this project. As some of you know, I have been working on this bridge
since 1996. Even if you can't make it to the dedication, I hope you will
take some time in the future to stop by and appreciate what was designed
and built, and has now been rebuilt, for the benefit of Camp Tuscazoar,
the community and the nation as a whole. May God bless all of you!
Thanks!
Your comments and suggestions will very much be appreciated.
Please send any messages concerning this project via email
to info@tuscazoar.org.
Let us know if you now have e-mail. If this was mailed to you,
or you saw it here first, I do not have your e-mail address and would appreciate knowing
it. Thanks! - Dave Tschantz, Zoarville Station Bridge
