Adventure Race - 2017

Adventure Race at Camp Tuscazoar

August 19, 2017

For the latest information and registration, visit:

This will be a new event for Camp Tuscazoar.  The race will include a 5 mile run, 4.5 mile paddle, 1 mile run, and finish with a 6 mile bike ride.  The event is being planned with the help of Kent State University, both Stark and Tuscarawas campuses, the Muskingum Watershed Conservency District, the Dirt Line, the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, and many other volunteers along the way.

The details are still being worked on.  The biggest challenge that still needs a solution is the take-out location here at camp.  We are expecting 100 participants which would require about 100 boats to be banked along our camp.  Currently, we have several folks canoeing the river looking for an appropriate spot and once found- there may be grant monies available to improve the area and make it suitable.  We will also be looking for many volunteers to assist both on the Friday night and Saturday during the event.

The Kent State Lions Club will be hosting a pasta dinner on Friday and plans are underway to have a small band in the Hoover Amphitheater for folks that may choose to camp with us.

If you have any suggestions or if you wish to volunteer in some way, please let us know through the camp email: info@tuscazoar.org or by calling Nancy Schoenbaum at 330-493-1386.

Camp Tuscazoar is located on County Road 83 (Boy Scout Rd.) just 1.5 miles south of the
State Routes 800 and 212.
