2011
In conjunction
with the
Northeast Ohio Orienteering Club (NEOOC),
Camp Tuscazoar will host a two-day long orienteering event.
Orienteering courses will be set up on
Saturday, October 1, 2011 and
Sunday, October 2, 2011
Both cross country and score
courses will be available! Participants can
have fun completing one or more real orienteering courses, while
exploring the nooks and crannies of Camp Tuscazoar. The bonus for Boy Scouts
interested in advancement is that in completing the courses, they will
satisfy requirements for
Orienteering
Merit Badge. In addition, the NEOOC will host clinics on both
Saturday and Sunday that will help scouts become better at orienteering
and also satisfy other merit badge requirements. For those already
skilled in orienteering, don't miss the opportunity to test yourself
against the best times and scores of other scouts. Maybe some of the
scouts will even be good enough to challenge the NEOOC regulars, who
compete in regional, national and international events.
While this is not a merit badge event, scouts will
obviously complete requirements by completing courses, and may also
complete requirements by actively participating in clinics. A MB
counselor will be available to sign partials.
Come for the weekend or just for one of the days. No
pre-registration is needed. Just come on down, sign in when you
arrive and enjoy the fun.
